Happy Holidays!
Happy Holidays Chamber!!! There were no official speakers today because we elected a NEW board for 2009… BUT while we were counting votes, the non profit organization Lauras House spoke.
Corporate offices are in Ladera Ranch, and there is a 31 bed shelter here in Orange County too. Location is only disclosed to women who need help!!
Unfortunately in a recession domestic violence increases, and government funding decreases. By visiting Laurashouse.org, you can adopt a family or donate online to help Lauras House get a new vehicle!!! They are $2000 short right now and are in need of transportation to help pick up battered women and take them to court appointments.
Please donate and help Orange Countys abused women and children.
and now… drumroll… here are your South Orange County networkers board members:
President: Debbie Lew
Vice President: Pete Wendy
Treasurer: Ana Vega & Ken Mark
Greeters: Phil Nathan & Jarrett Gucci
Publicity: Stacy Kennedy
Thanks for reading everyone! Happy Holidays!!!

New KOCE special features Aliso Viejo – Orange County Video Production Company N3 Digital Video Productions
End scene filmed in Laguna Audubon home, with local extras
By CHRIS CAESAR
The Orange County Register
A new television special by a local production company will feature residents of Aliso Viejo and a home in the Laguna Audubon neighborhood.
“A Taste of Korea” follows a woman as she prepares a surprise Korean-themed party for her husband, with a little help from a Korean chef. The show’s hosts travel all over Orange County, learning about various cultural dishes and the secrets to preparing them, with the trip ultimately ending in a party scene filmed with local extras in the Aliso Viejo home.
It will debut on KOCE at 10:30 a.m., Monday, Dec 1 and continue to run throughout the week. The show was produced by Aliso Viejo-based N3 Video Productions.
“We want to educate Orange County folks about Korean food and culture,” producer Walter Avillanoza said, adding he knew little about the country’s culinary traditions before starting the show. “Now, I go to the Korean restaurants we featured on the show for lunch all the time.”
Viewers will learn how to make bibimbap, a Korean mixed vegetable dish, and the popular galbi, or Korean ribs.
“The other word our show teaches you to say is ‘masisseoyo,’ which means ‘delicious,’” Avillanoza joked.

The Plumtree Marketing Minute – How to “Market” Difficult News: By Linda Coss
It’s a fact: sooner or later you’ll have to deliver difficult news to a client. Perhaps you made a mistake or missed a deadline. Maybe a delivery will be delayed, prices have gone up or credit has been denied. Whatever it is, how you present the news (i.e. how you “market” it) can have as big an impact as the news itself. Here’s what you should do:
1. Assess the Situation. To whom should you be delivering the news? What impact will this news have on the customer and their business? If there is a problem, what will it likely take to convince the customer that the situation is contained or under control?
2. Tell the Client ASAP. Don’t try to hide the situation. “I have something to tell you that is not what you’re expecting to hear.”
3. Accept the Blame and Apologize. If you or your company has done something wrong, now’s the time to admit it. Whether or not it was your fault, a heartfelt apology will demonstrate your sincerity and concern.
4. Empathize. Let the client know that you understand what an inconvenience (or serious problem) this situation is for them.
5. Present Solutions. Focus on what you can do to alleviate the situation for your customer. Be prepared to offer what you see as the best possible solutions.
6. Follow Up. Stay in close contact with the customer until you know that the problem has been resolved to their satisfaction.
Finally, don’t forget to ask for the client’s continued support. “Mary, can I count on you to accept my apology and continue to work with me to keep things moving forward?” This step is often neglected, and can go a long way towards cementing the relationship in spite of the current glitch.
